2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing our Website or completing registration for a Programme, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or proceed with registration.
You must be at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in Singapore in order to participate in our Programmes. Our Programmes are designed for adults aged 40 and above; however, the minimum age for contracting purposes is 18.
Where you register on behalf of another person, you represent that you have that person's authority to bind them to these terms and that you accept joint responsibility for compliance.
3. Service Description
Brynell provides financial education reading programmes and discussion-led workshops for adults in Singapore. Our Programmes are purely educational in scope and are not a substitute for regulated financial advice, investment advice, legal advice, or professional planning services of any kind.
Programmes are delivered in Singapore at locations confirmed by Brynell at time of registration, or at alternative premises communicated to registered participants in advance.
Brynell reserves the right to modify Programme schedules, facilitators, and Materials without notice, provided such modifications do not materially reduce the educational scope of the Programme. Where a Programme is cancelled in full, participants are entitled to a refund of Session Fees paid.
4. Enrolment and Accounts
Registration is completed by submitting an enquiry through our Website or by contacting Brynell directly. Enrolment is confirmed only upon receipt of written confirmation from Brynell and payment of the applicable Session Fee.
Where you create an account or provide login credentials to access Programme resources, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of those credentials. Brynell is not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised access to your account where such access results from your failure to keep credentials secure.
Brynell may decline or withdraw enrolment where a prospective participant's conduct during the registration process is inconsistent with Brynell's participant conduct expectations.
5. User Responsibilities
By using the Website and participating in Programmes, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration and at all points of contact with Brynell.
- Engage with facilitators and fellow participants with courtesy and respect during sessions.
- Not record sessions — whether by audio, video, or screen capture — without prior written consent from Brynell.
- Not share, reproduce, or distribute session Materials beyond your own personal use without Brynell's written permission.
- Not use the Website or Programme resources for any unlawful purpose or in a manner that infringes the rights of others.
- Notify Brynell of any material changes to your contact information prior to a Programme beginning.
You agree not to disrupt the learning environment during sessions. Brynell facilitators may ask a participant to withdraw from a session if their conduct significantly affects the experience of other participants. In such cases, no refund is payable.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on the Brynell Website — including text, layout, design, and graphical elements — and all Programme Materials are the intellectual property of Brynell or its licensors and are protected under applicable Singapore law.
Brynell grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Website for personal, non-commercial purposes, and to retain Programme Materials distributed to you solely for your own reference and study.
You may not reproduce, republish, sell, sublicence, or create derivative works from Website content or Programme Materials without Brynell's prior written consent. Use of Brynell's name, logo, or branding in any format requires express written permission.
7. Payment Terms
All Session Fees are quoted in Singapore Dollars (SGD) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. Fees are payable in full prior to the commencement of a Programme unless Brynell has agreed in writing to an alternative arrangement.
Accepted payment methods are confirmed at time of registration. Brynell does not store payment card details.
Refund policy: Where a participant withdraws from a Programme more than fourteen (14) calendar days before the first session, a full refund of Session Fees will be issued. Withdrawals received within fourteen (14) days of the first session are non-refundable, except where Brynell has cancelled the Programme. Requests for transfer to a future cohort are considered at Brynell's discretion and may incur an administrative charge.
Where a Programme is cancelled by Brynell, participants will receive a full refund of Session Fees paid. Brynell's liability in such cases is limited to the refund of those fees and does not extend to travel, accommodation, or other costs incurred by participants.
8. Programme-Specific Terms
Mid-Life Budget Reset Reading Workshop (S$330): This three-session evening workshop is workbook-led. Attendance at all three sessions is encouraged to gain full benefit from the programme arc. Non-attendance at one or more sessions does not entitle a participant to a pro-rated refund. Materials are distributed at the first session and remain with participants.
Long-Term Planning Reading Series (S$880): This nine-month programme runs in a cohort of twelve participants. Places are allocated on a first-confirmed, first-placed basis. Participants joining mid-series are not entitled to materials from sessions they did not attend. The clothbound reading binder is distributed at the first session. Monthly summary cards and the cohort newsletter are distributed throughout the series.
Household Communication Workshop (S$155): This weekend workshop accommodates six to ten participants. The small-group format is central to the workshop's dialogue-based approach. Brynell reserves the right to reschedule a session if confirmed attendance falls below six participants, in which case registered participants will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
All Programmes are educational in nature. Nothing in any session, Material, or facilitator comment should be construed as financial advice, investment advice, or professional planning services.
9. Disclaimers
Brynell's Programmes and Website are provided on an "as available" basis. While we take care to ensure that the content of our Programmes is accurate and thoughtfully prepared, we make no representations about the completeness, suitability, or fitness for a particular purpose of any Programme content or Material.
Brynell does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or professional planning services. The educational content shared in Programmes reflects frameworks, vocabulary, and discussion prompts intended to help participants think more clearly about household financial topics. Participants are encouraged to consult qualified professionals before making any financial decisions.
Brynell does not warrant that the Website will be uninterrupted or free from errors. We reserve the right to make changes to the Website's content and structure at any time without notice.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, Brynell's total liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with these terms or your participation in a Programme is limited to the Session Fees you paid for the Programme to which the claim relates.
Brynell is not liable for any indirect, consequential, special, incidental, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of data, or loss of opportunity, whether arising in contract, tort, or otherwise, even if Brynell has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Singapore law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Brynell, its facilitators, staff, and representatives from and against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from:
- Your breach of any provision of this Agreement.
- Your violation of any applicable law or the rights of a third party during a Programme or while using the Website.
- Any content or information you provide to Brynell that is inaccurate, misleading, or that infringes a third party's rights.
12. Termination
Brynell may withdraw your enrolment from a Programme or restrict your access to the Website where you have breached this Agreement or where your conduct is disruptive to other participants or Brynell staff. Where termination is due to your conduct, no refund of Session Fees is payable.
You may withdraw from a Programme at any time, subject to the refund policy set out in Section 7.
Clauses 6 (Intellectual Property), 9 (Disclaimers), 10 (Limitation of Liability), 11 (Indemnification), and 13 (Dispute Resolution) survive termination of this Agreement.
13. Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. In the event of a dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement, the parties agree to first attempt resolution through direct, good-faith discussion. Either party may initiate this process by writing to the other with a description of the issue and a proposed resolution.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally within thirty (30) days, either party may refer the matter to mediation through the Singapore Mediation Centre. The parties agree to consider mediation before commencing legal proceedings.
Subject to the above, each party submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
14. General Provisions
Entire agreement: This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Brynell in relation to its subject matter and supersedes all prior communications and representations.
Severability: If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.
Waiver: Brynell's failure to enforce any provision does not constitute a waiver of that provision or of Brynell's right to enforce it in future.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer any rights or obligations under this Agreement without Brynell's prior written consent. Brynell may assign its rights and obligations to a successor organisation without notice.
Notices: Notices from Brynell to you will be sent to the email address provided at registration. Notices from you to Brynell should be sent to [email protected].
15. Changes to These Terms
Brynell may revise these terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We may also notify registered participants by email where a revision significantly affects their rights.
Continued use of the Website or continued participation in an active Programme following the publication of revised terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Agreement.
We recommend reviewing this page periodically. If you do not agree to a revised version, you may withdraw from an upcoming Programme subject to the refund policy in Section 7.
