Each Brynell programme is designed for a specific situation. Read the details below and see which one fits where you are now.
Return HomeHow All Our Programmes Work
Every Brynell programme is structured around the same underlying method: participants read before they arrive, discuss when they are together, and leave with materials they can continue to refer to. The facilitator's role is to guide discussion — not to lecture, not to advise, and not to promote.
Sessions are held in our reading space at OCBC Centre. Cohorts are small and fixed — once the cohort is formed, the same participants attend all sessions together. This builds continuity and allows discussions to develop in depth rather than restarting each time.
No financial advice is offered at any point during any programme. Facilitators will redirect questions that venture into advisory territory and will suggest participants consult a licensed financial adviser for those matters.
Read First
Materials sent in advance. Participants arrive having read.
Discuss Together
Structured discussion in a small, stable cohort.
Keep the Materials
Printed workbooks and binders for ongoing reference.
Programme 1
Mid-Life Budget Reset Reading Workshop
Designed for adults aged 40 to 55 navigating a mid-life household budget rethink — whether children are moving into tertiary education, a household member is shifting career, or you simply want to look at your household ledger with fresher eyes. The workshop is workbook-led across three evening sessions, with peer discussion rounds between exercises.
- Three weekday evening sessions at OCBC Centre
- Printed reset workbook and household ledger template
- Two follow-up reflection circles included
- Structured budget mapping exercises, not lectures
- Purely educational — no advice is offered
Programme Fee
S$330
How the Workshop Unfolds
Mapping
Session one introduces the workbook structure and guides participants through an initial household budget mapping exercise.
Examining
Session two works through the ledger template in detail, using peer discussion to surface assumptions embedded in household spending patterns.
Framing
Session three is a synthesis session — participants articulate what they have understood and identify the questions they want to bring to their advisers or household conversations.
Programme 2
Long-Term Planning Reading Series
A nine-month monthly reading series for adults aged 45 to 60 who want a slow, considered introduction to the vocabulary and frameworks used in long-horizon personal planning — drawdown concepts, longevity considerations, household income mapping across the years, and the language of intergenerational planning. The series meets once a month in a cohort of twelve.
- Nine monthly sessions over the course of a year
- Clothbound reading binder and monthly summary cards
- Private cohort newsletter sent between sessions
- Fixed cohort of twelve — same participants across all sessions
- Structured reading list, not a lecture programme
Programme Fee
S$880
Nine-Month Reading Arc
Months 1–3: Vocabulary
Building a shared working vocabulary from the reading list — drawdown, longevity framing, income mapping, household balance concepts.
Months 4–6: Frameworks
Applying vocabulary to household-level scenarios. Discussion of intergenerational planning concepts. Reading list deepens in complexity.
Months 7–9: Integration
Participants work to integrate vocabulary and frameworks with their own household context. Final sessions focus on articulating questions for professional consultation.
Programme 3
Household Communication Workshop
A weekend workshop on the communication frameworks needed when household finances become a shared topic across generations — partners, adult children, and ageing parents. Participants work through prepared dialogue scenarios with reflection rounds between exercises. The aim is to develop conversational fluency rather than to make decisions during the workshop.
- Weekend format — Saturday and Sunday sessions
- Printed communication guide and scenario cards
- One follow-up reflection circle approximately six weeks later
- Small group of six to ten participants
- Suitable for individuals or household pairs attending together
Programme Fee
S$155
